Opera Rose

Opera Rose (one of the Essential Range of the 10 most useful paints)

Pigment number: PYR122.

This is by far the most brilliant hue that's been produced so far and it's superb for the brightest pink flowers and for applying in a really thin wash to really lift any pinks that need it.

Opera Rose used to have a rating of fugitive but there have been huge developments in the production of paint pigments over the last 20 years and many previously ‘fugitive’ paints are now not. For example the W&N Opera Rose is now rated ‘B’ for Permanence which is ‘Moderately Durable’ rather than fugitive. What you’ll find is that unless you expose it to direct sun a LOT over a LONG time then it will be fine. And if you're still concerned, you can frame your best works under UV protective glass which will totally protect them. Personally, the vibrance of Opera Rose is just heavenly to use!
